Site Manager / Construction Manager – Civils HS2 Project – Marsh Lane Culvert & Bayleys Brook Diversion (BBV) Site-Based Role
The Opportunity
My client is a leading Civil Engineering company who are delivering a key civils package on the HS2 programme and they are looking for an experienced Site Manager / Construction Manager to support delivery on a major infrastructure project within the BBV alliance. This is a hands-on, site-based role where you’ll take ownership of day-to-day operations, leading teams and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with HS2 standards. Ideal for someone currently operating as a Site Manager, General Foreman, or Construction Manager in civils who’s comfortable working in a Tier 1, highly regulated environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading day-to-day site operations across civils and structures work
- Supervising site teams, engineers, and subcontractors
- Delivering works safely and in line with approved RAMS, drawings and specifications, and programme requirements
- Driving high standards in health, safety and wellbeing
- Ensuring quality compliance through Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
- Coordinating plant, labour, and materials to maintain progress
- Supporting Temporary Works implementation (TWS level or above)
- Managing site-level issues and feeding into change control processes
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting digital systems (e.g. QA records, inspections)
Safety & Quality Focus
You’ll play a key role in maintaining HS2 standards on site, including:
- Enforcing “no approval – no work” principles
- Ensuring works follow approved RAMS and ITPs
- Stopping unsafe or non-compliant works when needed
- Supporting structured QA and assurance processes required on major infrastructure projects
What I am Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager / Construction Manager / General Foreman
- Strong background in civils / infrastructure works
- SMSTS (or equivalent)
- Experience managing site teams and subcontractors
- Good understanding of RAMS and safe systems of work
- Site coordination and programme delivery
Desirable
- Experience on projects such as HS2, Network Rail, major highways or infrastructure
- Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS) or Coordinator (TWC)
- Experience working within structured QA / assurance environments
