Asphalt Supervisors oversee operations and directly supervise and coordinate the activities of workers engaged in construction and related civil engineering tasks. They ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Directly supervises and coordinates the activities of road surfacing and civil engineering workers and/or subcontractors.
- Manages and monitors work schedules to meet productivity requirements.
- Oversees the setup and operation of machinery and equipment specific to road surfacing, such as pavers, rollers, and graders.
- Liaises with managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve operational and technical challenges.
- Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards across all activities.
- Determines or recommends resource requirements, including staffing, materials, and equipment, to meet productivity and quality goals.
- Conducts inspections to ensure work adheres to project specifications, quality standards, and timelines.
- Reports regularly to managerial staff on progress, challenges, and outcomes of road surfacing and civil engineering projects.
