Rathbones provides individual investment and wealth management services for private clients, charities, trustees and professional partners. We have been trusted for generations to manage and preserve our clients’ wealth. Our tradition of investing and acting responsibly has been with us from the beginning and continues to lead us forward. Our ambition is to be recognised as the UK’s most responsible wealth manager.

We're looking for an experienced wealth management professional to lead the delivery of a client pathways framework and proposition hub that will become key foundations of our client experience and proposition governance model. This is a hands-on role focused on implementation rather than strategy. Over a six-month period, you'll translate existing concepts into practical, business-ready assets that support good client outcomes, Consumer Duty requirements and consistent delivery across the client lifecycle. Working with stakeholders across Proposition, Advice, Investment, Client Service, Risk, Compliance, Marketing and Technology, you'll create sustainable frameworks and governance processes.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Deliver an end-to-end client pathways framework covering acquisition, onboarding, ongoing servicing and offboarding.
  • Ensure pathways are aligned to client segments, propositions, service models and Consumer Duty requirements.
  • Build and implement a proposition hub and library as the firm's single source of truth.
  • Establish governance, ownership, review cycles and change management processes.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to secure buy-in, approval and business adoption.
  • Work closely with Risk and Compliance to ensure regulatory readiness and evidential standards are met.
  • Lead transition and handover activities to ensure ongoing ownership beyond the contract term.

About you:

If you meet some of these criteria and are excited about the role, we encourage you to apply:

  • Substantial senior-level experience within UK wealth management, financial advice, or asset management, with direct responsibility for proposition design, client experience, pathways frameworks, or knowledge management in a regulated environment.
  • A track record of hands-on delivery and implementation, not just strategic design.
  • Strong working understanding of Consumer Duty in practice, including fair value assessments, target market statements, suitability frameworks, and the evidential standards expected by the FCA.
  • Demonstrable experience building or managing a proposition function, knowledge hub, or library, including ownership of taxonomy, version control, accountability models, and review cycles.
  • Strong communicator with the credibility to influence senior stakeholders and the commercial judgement to deliver successfully within a fast-paced, time-bound assignment.
  • Commercial judgement and pragmatism. The ability to navigate trade-offs, deliver within tight timeframes, and focus on what is achievable and sustainable rather than pursuing theoretical perfection.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with or presenting to regulatory bodies (FCA, PRA) on proposition matters, pathways, or Consumer Duty.
  • Familiarity with client segmentation, persona development, and service design methodologies.
  • Experience implementing knowledge management platforms or proposition hubs on SharePoint, internal intranets, or similar collaboration tools.

We want everyone at Rathbones to fulfil their potential, in an environment where you are proud to work and feel like you belong. We offer a comprehensive remuneration package, which we review regularly, and benefits include:
