The Rathbones Summer Internship Programme is designed for students in the penultimate year of university study, whether undergraduate, master’s or PhD, who want experience in technology and data within a leading UK wealth manager. The programme is open to students from all degree disciplines. We are interested in capable, curious people who want to learn quickly, contribute to real work, and explore how technology is changing financial services.
Responsibilities
- Supporting data analysis, reporting and process improvement initiatives
- Assisting with coding, automation and AI‑related tasks
- Collaborating on dashboards, prototypes, or internal tools
- Helping document requirements, analyse business problems and prepare outputs for stakeholders
- Gaining exposure to how technology supports wealth management, client service and operations
Qualifications
- In the penultimate year of your undergraduate, master’s or PhD studies
- Be on track for, or have achieved a 2.1 in your undergraduate degree
- Available to work full‑time for the duration of the internship
- Able to work 5 days per week in the office
We’re looking for students who are thoughtful and open to learning; you don’t need a finance or tech background, but you should be motivated to grow and ready to make a positive impact. Genuinely interested in finance, investing or wealth management, and curious about how technology, data and AI are shaping the industry. Curious and keen to learn. Analytical and comfortable working with information and data. Good communicators, able to explain ideas clearly. Organised and able to work well with others. Interested in how technology, data and AI can improve how firms operate and serve clients.
