The Rathbone Fitzrovia is continuing an exciting new phase following the hotel's refurbishment and repositioning. We are looking for an experienced and highly professional Assistant Hotel Manager to support the day-to-day operation of our 72-bedroom boutique hotel in the heart of Central London. This role is ideally suited to a strong operational hospitality professional who is ready to take the next step in their career following experience within a Rooms Division Manager or senior operational leadership role.
We are seeking someone who leads from the front, remains calm under pressure, and understands the importance of maintaining high operational standards while creating a confident, well-organised and guest-focused team environment.
The Role
The Assistant Hotel Manager will support the overall day-to-day operation of the hotel, working closely with all departments to ensure service standards, operational efficiency and guest satisfaction are consistently maintained. This is a highly hands-on operational leadership role with a strong focus on front-of-house and rooms division performance, while also supporting wider hotel operations as required. The successful candidate will be a visible presence within the hotel, leading by example, supporting departmental teams and ensuring the smooth running of the operation across Front of House, Housekeeping, F&B and Reservations. You will work closely with senior management to maintain standards, support team development and contribute to the continued growth and performance of the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operation of the hotel ensuring consistently high service standards
- Lead by example and maintain a visible presence across the operation
- Support and oversee front office and rooms division operations including Reception and Housekeeping
- Ensure a professional, welcoming and well-organised environment for guests and team members
- Take ownership of guest experience, resolving issues promptly and professionally
- Support departmental managers and teams to maintain operational efficiency and service delivery
- Assist with team leadership, coaching, recruitment and staff development
- Ensure hotel procedures, standards and systems are followed effectively
- Work closely with all departments to maintain strong communication and smooth coordination across the hotel
- Support rota planning, departmental organisation and daily operational planning
- Monitor standards throughout the property and identify opportunities for improvement
- Provide operational cover and hands-on support during busy periods when required
- Maintain a calm and solutions-focused approach within a fast-paced environment
- Support the wider management team in achieving commercial and operational objectives
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience within a Rooms Division Manager, Front Office Manager or senior operational hotel management role
- Experience working within a 4 star + hotel environment
- A strong operational background with a hands-on leadership style
- Excellent understanding of front office operations and guest service delivery
- Experience managing and motivating operational teams within a busy hotel environment
- A confident and professional leader who leads by example
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to remain composed and solutions-focused under pressure
- Experience using Opera Cloud PMS is essential
- A genuine commitment to maintaining high standards of hospitality and guest experience
