The Salesforce Developer / Application Engineer is responsible for building, extending and supporting Salesforce solutions as Rathbones re‑platforms the end‑to‑end client lifecycle onto Salesforce Financial Services Cloud (FSC). Working under the direction of the Lead Salesforce Developer / Solution Architect and within an Agile product team, the role will deliver high‑quality Salesforce configuration and custom development, integrations and automation. The role plays a key part in the transition from consultancy‑led delivery to long‑term in‑house platform ownership, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure and compliant.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Build and enhance Salesforce functionality using a combination of declarative configuration and programmatic development, aligned to Salesforce and FSC best practice.
  • Develop and maintain solutions using Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows and integrations, following established coding standards.
  • Implement, manage and support key Financial Services Cloud features, including Person Accounts, households, relationship groups, rollups, Action Plans and compliant data sharing.
  • Contribute to the design and build of integrations between Salesforce and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs and integration frameworks.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts and the Lead Developer to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Support testing, deployment and release activities using Copado, ensuring quality, traceability and adherence to CI/CD standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve defects and production issues, contributing to platform stability and continuous improvement.
  • Participate fully in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand‑ups, reviews and retrospectives.
  • Ensure solutions are delivered with appropriate consideration for data security, regulatory obligations and long‑term maintainability.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and documentation to support platform sustainability and team capability.

About you:

  • Proven experience developing solutions on the Salesforce platform in a delivery‑focused role.
  • Hands‑on experience with Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL/SOSL and Flows.
  • Experience configuring and extending Salesforce Financial Services Cloud or working with complex Salesforce data models.
  • Understanding of Salesforce security, sharing models and governor limits.
  • Experience building or supporting Salesforce integrations using APIs.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methods and working as part of a product‑led team.
  • Experience using CI/CD and deployment tools, ideally Copado.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I certification.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in financial services, wealth management or other regulated environments.
  • Experience with OmniStudio components (FlexCards, OmniScripts, Integration Procedures).
  • Exposure to Salesforce Data Cloud (Data 360) concepts, such as data ingestion, identity resolution or activation.
  • Experience with Marketing Cloud Engagement / Marketing Cloud Next.
  • Experience supporting Salesforce platforms post‑implementation (Day‑2 support and enhancement).
