Recycling Assistant Plays a key role in supporting the safe and efficient operation of the Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC).
The role involves assisting members of the public with the correct disposal and recycling of household waste, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
Recycling Assistant Key responsibilities include providing guidance to customers on waste segregation, directing site traffic, maintaining a clean and safe working environment, and carrying out safe manual handling ac ivities, including the handling of hazardous materials where required.
The postholder is responsible for promoting safe site use, reporting hazards or unsafe practices, and supporting the centre's commitment to environmental compliance and customer service.
The Recycling Assistant is also responsible for processing customer payments for chargeable waste streams, ensuring transactions are completed accurately and professionally.
Through positive customer interaction and adherence to standard operating procedures, the role helps to maximise recycling rates, maintain site safety, and deliver a high standard of public service.
