Purpose: To provide routine upkeep & maintenance services to the councils domestic stock , temporary accommodation , Hostels & Community Living Schemes Job Specific Requirements To coordinate & undertake the upkeep, repairs and maintenance both internally and externally of the councils domestic stock, temporary accommodation, Hostels and Community Living Schemes To undertake all routine maintenance tasks and general repair work as requested by the teams.
To check the maintenance request book for tasks to be completed setting priorities with teams.
To be able to change priorities and carry out duties that may be required in unexpected situations To undertake painting, low level repairs and general upkeep duties for Hostels and Community Living Schemes including carpentry work Purchase and collection of consumables control of maintenance stock.
To carry out removal/relocation of furniture and equipment.
Ensure that the grounds and car park are free from weeds & litter.
Ensure bin areas are kept clean& tidy.
To remove bulk rubbish as required.
Ensure that all tools and equipment are kept securely, in good repair and fit for purpose.
To record, update and report relevant information.
To promote the efficient and effective operation of the housing stock, Hostels and Community Living Schemes through: Compliance with the Fire, Health and Safety Regulations, by ensuring that appropriate records are kept and fire drill procedures are adhered to in accordance with relevant legislation and Council?s policies andprocedures.
Contributing and maintaining accurate records relating to the housing stock , Hostels and Community Living Schemes where applicable.
Driving duties in relation to the operation of the service.
Experience / Knowledge Experience of completing basic maintenance work within a domestic or commercial environment.
Experience of working with customers.
Experience of using new technology
