ToprovidesupportandassistancetotheteamtoensureaneffectiveandcomprehensivehousingmanagementserviceisprovidedtothetemporaryaccommodationusedbytheAuthority. Toprovideaneffectiveandresponsiveresponsetoservicerequestsfromclients. Togenerallyparticipateintheoverallplanninganddevelopmentofthehomelessnessservice. KEYRESULTAREASAccommodationSupportOfficer ToberesponsibleforthesmoothrunningofadministrativesystemsrelatingtotheHousingSupplyandRegulationServicewithaparticularemphasisuponthesystemssurroundingtheprovisionoftemporaryaccommodationtohomelesshouseholds. Tocollectandcollatemanagementinformationandstatisticsandtoprovidethemtomanagersasdirected. Toactasapointofcontactformaintenancesupportanddirection. Tosupporttheteamintheprocurementandbookingofemergencyaccommodationandtoberesponsiblefortheadministrativeaspectsofplacingclientsintotheaccommodation. Toactasapointofcontactforclientsintemporaryaccommodationalongsideothercolleaguesintheteam. Toassistwiththeoperation,monitoringandreviewoffinancialprocesses,suchasHousingBenefitclaims,rentpaymentsandinvoicingandensuringthataccuraterecordsaremaintained. Toassistintheday-to-daymanagementoftemporaryaccommodationunitsprovidedbytheCouncilforhomelesshouseholds. Toprovideahighlevelofcustomerservicetolandlords,applicantsandthoseapproachingNewportCityCouncilinrelationtotemporaryaccommodationalongsidedealingwithday-to-daycustomerenquiriesasrequiredandcommensuratewiththegrade. Toassistwithcreatingandmonitoringrentchargesandincomereceivedinrespectoftemporaryaccommodation. Asdirected,tocarryoutallappropriateadministrativefunctionsrelatingtotheoperationoftemporaryaccommodation,includingtheraisingofpaymentrequisitions,debits,creditsandinvoices,processingorders,sendingandreceivinggoods/servicesandoperating/updatingrelevantITsystems. Toassistinthepreparationofcorrespondence,reports,dataandstatistics,performanceinformation. Toattendinternalandexternalmeetingsasrequiredandtotakeminutesasappropriateandwherenecessary. Totakereasonablecareofownandotherssafety;toco-operatewithmanagers/supervisorsincomplyingwithstatutoryhealth&safetyduties;toreportincidents,accidents,faultsetc QualificationsAccommodationSupportOfficer Aminimumof5GCSEsatgradeCorabove,includingmathsandEnglish.
