Toprovidesupportandassistancetotheteamtoensureaneffectiveandcomprehensivehousingmanagementserviceisprovidedtothetemporaryaccommodationusedbythe Authority.
Toprovideaneffectiveandresponsiveresponsetoservicerequestsfromclients.
Togenerallyparticipateintheoverallplanninganddevelopmentofthehomelessnessservice.
KEYRESULTAREASAccommodation Support Officer
Toberesponsibleforthesmoothrunningofadministrativesystemsrelatingtothe Housing Supplyand Regulation Servicewithaparticularemphasisuponthesystemssurroundingtheprovisionoftemporaryaccommodationtohomelesshouseholds.
Tocollectandcollatemanagementinformationandstatisticsandtoprovidethemtomanagersasdirected.
Toactasapointofcontactformaintenancesupportanddirection.
Tosupporttheteamintheprocurementandbookingofemergencyaccommodationandtoberesponsiblefortheadministrativeaspectsofplacingclientsintotheaccommodation.
Toactasapointofcontactforclientsintemporaryaccommodationalongsideothercolleaguesintheteam.
Toassistwiththeoperation, monitoringandreviewoffinancialprocesses, suchas Housing Benefitclaims, rentpaymentsandinvoicingandensuringthataccuraterecordsaremaintained.
Toassistintheday-to-daymanagementoftemporaryaccommodationunitsprovidedbythe Councilforhomelesshouseholds.
Toprovideahighlevelofcustomerservicetolandlords, applicantsandthoseapproaching Newport City Councilinrelationtotemporaryaccommodationalongsidedealingwithday-to-daycustomerenquiriesasrequiredandcommensuratewiththegrade.
Toassistwithcreatingandmonitoringrentchargesandincomereceivedinrespectoftemporaryaccommodation.
Asdirected, tocarryoutallappropriateadministrativefunctionsrelatingtotheoperationoftemporaryaccommodation, includingtheraisingofpaymentrequisitions, debits, creditsandinvoices, processingorders, sendingandreceivinggoods/servicesandoperating/updatingrelevant ITsystems.
Toassistinthepreparationofcorrespondence, reports, dataandstatistics, performanceinformation.
Toattendinternalandexternalmeetingsasrequiredandtotakeminutesasappropriateandwherenecessary.
Totakereasonablecareofownandotherssafety; toco-operatewithmanagers/supervisorsincomplyingwithstatutoryhealth&safetyduties; toreportincidents, accidents, faultsetc
