RAS SCI operates in a market where demand for supply chain transparency, compliance, and stock accuracy is increasing rapidly. The business is now entering a focused growth phase across the UK, Europe and Globally.
This is a full-time remote role with regular travel across the UK and some Europe/global travel. The successful candidate should be based in the UK (but we will consider the right candidate living in Europe), with a strong preference for individuals with experience and networks across the European retail market.
As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for building and converting a structured commercial pipeline across retail supply chains. This is a front-line commercial role focused on generating new business, opening new relationships, and converting opportunities into long-term contracts.
This role exists to establish a dedicated commercial capability within the business, moving away from reliance on organic growth and operational relationships.
Uncapped commission linked to gross margin performance
All commission is validated against invoiced and collected revenue, ensuring strong financial control and alignment with business profitability.
Business Development & Pipeline Creation
- Build and manage a structured pipeline of new business opportunities across UK and European retail supply chains, leveraging the existing success
- Lead proactive outreach and engagement across industry networks, events, and direct channels
Commercial Conversion
- Convert new relationships into long-term commercial contracts
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure smooth transition from sale to delivery
- Build relationships that support long-term strategic growth
Performance & Reporting
- Work toward an annual new business target of £2M+ revenue (our average current contract is £2.5m)
- Track pipeline performance, conversion rates, and margin delivery
- Provide regular reporting on pipeline activity and commercial progress
Proven experience in a Business Development, Sales, or Commercial role with a strong focus on new business generation
- Experience selling into retail, supply chain, or logistics environments
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to prioritise profitable deals
- Ability to operate independently in a remote, high-accountability environment
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills at senior stakeholder level
- Willingness to travel across the UK and Europe
Existing network within European retail markets, particularly Germany
- Experience in supply chain compliance, audit, or operational services
- Background in Food, Fashion, DIY, or Pharmacy retail sectors
- This is not an account management role. It is a new business role
- Increasing market demand driven by regulation, compliance, and supply chain risk

Strong business development and sales skills, with a focus on relationship building, negotiation, and closing deals
- Proficiency in market research, analysis, and identifying growth opportunities
- Strategic planning and project management experience, with excellent organisational skills

- Proficiency in CRM tools and familiarity with data-driven decision-making
- Experience in the supply chain, logistics, or retail industries is essential
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a remote work environment
