Rapyd is seeking a dynamic, techâsavvy Sales & Account Manager to join our Partnerships Team, focusing exclusively on startup ecosystems. This role bridges business development, partner sales, and technical enablement, helping fastâgrowing startups integrate and scale with Rapyd's global payments infrastructure.
Startup Sales & Business Development
- Identify, prospect, and onboard highâpotential startups that can benefit from Rapyd's payment solutions (e.g., payâins, payouts, wallets, issuing, FX).
- Travel frequently to major tech, startâup, and scaleâup events (e.g., Slush, Web Summit, TNW, local accelerators) to represent Rapyd and network with prospective partners.
- Develop and execute a goâtoâmarket strategy for the startup segment, focusing on verticals like SaaS, marketplaces, embedded finance, and digital platforms.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline through inbound leads, startup accelerators, VCs, and ecosystem partnerships.
- Lead the full sales cycle â from initial discovery and technical qualification through proposal, negotiation, and closing.
- Collaborate with Rapyd's marketing and partnerships teams to coâcreate startup enablement programs, webinars, and ecosystem campaigns.
Technical Engagement & Enablement
- Work closely with startup product and tech teams to understand their integration architecture and payment flows.
- Provide firstâline technical guidance and solution design during the preâsales process (API, SDK, webhooks, and platform capabilities).
- Translate partner requirements into internal product feedback, helping shape future product roadmap and feature prioritization.
- Liaise with Rapyd's Solutions Engineering team to ensure smooth implementation and postâlaunch technical support.
- Maintain a working understanding of key fintech technologies including open banking, payment gateways, card acquiring, digital wallets, and APIâbased integrations.
Account Management & Growth
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all commercial and operational aspects of the startup accounts you manage.
- Build longâterm relationships with founders, CTOs, and product teams to ensure satisfaction, adoption, and expansion.
- Drive account growth through crossâsell and upsell opportunities across Rapyd's product suite (e.g., open banking, issuing, FX, virtual accounts).
- Monitor partner performance, transaction volumes, and margins to identify growth levers and areas for optimization.
- Coordinate internally with compliance, onboarding, and product teams to resolve issues quickly and enhance partner experience.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in product, engineering, sales, or partnerships, or account management, ideally within payments, fintech, SaaS, or APIâled platforms.
- Ability to read and explain complex API documentation and troubleshoot integration flows using market leading tools.
- Proven experience working directly with developers or CTOs, with the ability to "speak their language" and translate business needs into technical tickets (User Stories).
- Demonstrated ability to move from a highâlevel business conversation with a CEO to a deepâdive technical whiteboard session with a Lead Engineer in the same meeting.
- Proven track record of closing B2B partnerships and managing postâsales relationships with startups or tech companies.
- Experience working with or selling to founders, CTOs, and developers in earlyâstage or growthâstage environments.
- Strong understanding of payment ecosystems (acquiring, issuing, FX, compliance) and startup goâtoâmarket dynamics.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate crossâfunctionally with product, compliance, legal, and technical teams.
- Solid grasp of APIs, webhooks, and payment integrations â comfortable discussing JSON requests, authentication, and integration workflows.
- Experience with sandbox environments or developer onboarding processes for fintech or SaaS APIs.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and translate business requirements into implementation steps.
- Familiarity with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce).
