Position: Social Media & Community Executive

Location: London/Hybrid (3-5 days a week in office, regular shoots & events)

Contract: 6-month fixed-term contract, with potential to extend

Reporting to: Senior Marketing Executive

Salary: £28-32K per annum depending on experience

Overview

Raptor is a youth marketing agency that lives and breathes Gen Z culture. With over a decade’s experience connecting brands with young audiences through creative strategy, insight and authentic community activation, we’re on a mission to become the world’s leading youth marketing agency.

Everything we do has student and youth culture at its heart and is tailored to our clients’ requirements.

Our clients include PepsiCo, Airbnb, Google, Tinder, Deliveroo, Jägermeister and UNiDAYS. We’re based in East London and deliver work across the UK, Europe and the US.

We’re looking for a Social Media & Community Executive to join Raptor on an initial six-month fixed-term contract. This is a culture-first, high-ownership role for someone who thinks like a content strategist and executes like a creator. You’ll help shape what we post, how it shows up and how it engages with our audience across TikTok and Instagram.

Prerequisites

You’ll have a strong understanding of Gen Z and the UK cultural landscape, with a particular interest in areas such as fashion, beauty, wellness, food, lifestyle and internet culture.

You’ll be proactive, creative and chronically online, with excellent judgement around what feels current, what is becoming overdone and which trends are worth acting on. You should be comfortable taking ownership, working at pace and turning ideas into content without needing extensive direction.

This is a hands-on role, so you’ll need to be confident filming and editing content, appearing on camera and engaging directly with an online community.

The Role

As a Social Media & Community Executive, you’ll support the day-to-day management of UK social channels, predominantly TikTok and Instagram.

You’ll combine strategic thinking with hands-on content creation - developing ideas, filming and editing short-form video, posting content, responding to the community and helping to build a consistent social presence.

You’ll be trusted to identify emerging trends, decide we can participate in them and create content that feels native to each platform rather than like traditional advertising.

You’ll work closely with teams across Raptor, with expectations to create content from the office, at events and during cultural moments across the UK.

You’ll have the opportunity to take genuine ownership of our UK social presence, with the creative freedom to help shape and grow our community at an exciting stage. While this is initially a six-month fixed-term contract, there may also be potential for the role to be extended.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the UK social channels day to day, including content scheduling, captions, posting, timing and cadence.

  • Turn Raptor’s marketing and content strategy into platform-native content that feels relevant, engaging and authentic.

  • Help establish and maintain a distinctive tone of voice that is culturally aware, playful and consistent.

  • Develop original content ideas that audiences would choose to watch.

  • Create content that feels lo-fi, spontaneous and native to social, while maintaining high standards across filming, lighting, framing and editing.

  • Confidently appear on camera and become a recognisable face and voice within the content.

  • Direct contributors and capture the footage needed quickly and effectively during shoots and events.

  • Edit short-form video using tools such as CapCut, TikTok and Instagram, with strong instincts for hooks, pacing and storytelling.

  • Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of always-on content.

  • Monitor trends, platform updates and changes to the TikTok and Instagram algorithms.

  • Identify emerging cultural moments and translate them into relevant ideas.

  • Bring a clear point of view on what is working, what feels tired and what we should try next.

  • Manage comments, DMs and replies, ensuring community interactions feel reactive, personable and on-brand.

  • Treat the comment section as an extension of the content strategy, identifying opportunities to entertain and engage.

  • Spot and amplify relevant user-generated content and community moments.

  • Help identify creators and cultural figures who could be strong partners.

  • Support creator relationships, gifting campaigns and content collaborations.

  • Review social performance and use results to shape future content and improve engagement.

Experience

  • Previous experience creating and editing short-form social content, whether for a brand, agency, creator or personal platform.

  • Experience managing or contributing to TikTok and Instagram accounts.

  • Strong understanding of platform formats, trends, pacing, audiences and performance metrics.

  • Experience with community management and online audience engagement.

  • Confidence filming high-quality content using a phone.

  • Experience editing content using CapCut, TikTok, Instagram or similar tools.

  • Comfortable appearing and speaking on camera.

  • Experience working in a fast-moving agency environment is preferred but not essential.

  • A portfolio or examples of social content you have personally ideated, filmed or edited will be required.

Key Competencies

  • Creativity: You consistently bring fresh, culturally relevant ideas to the table and can turn them into engaging content.

  • Socially Savvy: You have a strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram and the wider social landscape. You naturally keep up with trends, creators and online conversations.

  • Cultural Awareness: You understand UK Gen Z culture and can identify the moments, conversations and communities we should meaningfully participate in.

  • Content Instincts: You understand what stops the scroll and why, with strong judgement around hooks, pacing, storytelling and platform-native formats.

  • On-Screen Confidence: You’re comfortable and confident appearing in social content, event coverage and behind-the-scenes footage. You’re expressive, personable and authentic on camera.

  • Decisiveness: You can make quick, well-judged decisions about what should go live and move from an idea to execution at pace.

  • Organisation: You can manage a consistent content pipeline, deadlines, shoots and community activity while remaining flexible and reactive.

  • Communication: You’re a strong written and verbal communicator who can adapt your tone for different platforms and audiences.

  • Initiative: You’re proactive, resourceful and comfortable taking ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do.

  • Attention to Detail: You maintain high standards across captions, edits, brand tone, scheduling and community responses.

  • Positivity: You bring positive, collaborative energy to the Raptor team, our clients, creators and wider community.
