Production Engineer will support Engineering activities in the development and testing of complex CT X‑ray inspection machines. This is a hands‑on role which involves input to and the construction of engineering prototype systems and/or the upgrade of existing test systems. The role involves a high degree of hands‑on mechanical assembly and prototyping.

Responsibilities

  • To provide input to the mechanical construction and design of prototype CT X‑ray inspection machines.
  • To lead the assembly of prototype CT test machines.
  • Execution of machine hardware modifications to assist the Engineering and Test functions with upgrading equipment under test.
  • To assist Engineering and Test functions with the execution of product testing.
  • Organisational help with the operational running of the product test environment including space planning, arranging/moving heavy equipment, test equipment storage, planning provision of key services such as power sources and communication lines.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience (5+ years) of shopfloor product assembly in a manufacturing organisation.
  • Self‑motivated individual capable of independent working in a multi-disciplined team.

Knowledge, Training And Qualifications Required

  • BTEC, NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Mechanics / Engineering.
  • Excellent practical skills in assembly & modification of mechanical systems.
  • Computer literate in key MS packages (Excel / Word / Outlook / Teams).
  • Knowledge of high voltage systems an advantage.
  • Fork lift trained an advantage.
