Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to join our procurement team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-impact industry while supporting key supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Place and manage purchase orders with precision and timeliness
• Attend procurement and cross-functional meetings at our Crawley manufacturing site
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
• Support cost reduction initiatives and benchmark supply chain competitiveness
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and Engineering teams on NPI projects
• Assist the Senior Buyer with negotiations and strategic sourcing
• Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards through process documentation
• Resolve supplier invoice queries and manage demand requests
• Ensure suppliers consistently meet cost, quality and delivery targets (Total Cost of Ownership)

Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)
