Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to join our procurement team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-impact industry while supporting key supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Place and manage purchase orders with precision and timeliness
- Attend procurement and cross-functional meetings at our Crawley manufacturing site
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Support cost reduction initiatives and benchmark supply chain competitiveness
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and Engineering teams on NPI projects
- Assist the Senior Buyer with negotiations and strategic sourcing
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards through process documentation
- Resolve supplier invoice queries and manage demand requests
- Ensure suppliers consistently meet cost, quality and delivery targets (Total Cost of Ownership)
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)
