The Role

Reporting to the Operations Director, this position plays a key role in driving manufacturing efficiency and supporting the continuous improvement of production operations. You will act as a change agent within the manufacturing team, leading initiatives to improve processes, introduce new products, and enhance facility layout and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day production activities including troubleshooting and improvement plans
  • Lead Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews
  • Analyse downtime and implement improvements to quality and efficiency
  • Evaluate production flow and identify bottlenecks
  • Support new product introductions (NPI)
  • Improve shop floor layouts and space utilisation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on improvements
  • Maintain and standardise documentation and SOPs
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure safety compliance
  • Support quality assurance and investigate failures
  • Assist with material flow and presentation

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a volume manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on approach and ability to support teams on the shop floor
  • Experience in new product introduction
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools (5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen)
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, assembly, automation)
  • Experience with root cause analysis tools
  • Familiarity with quality standards (ISO 9001, etc.)
  • Understanding of material flow and scheduling
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices

Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant engineering or technical discipline

Working Pattern

Monday to Friday shift rotation with early and late shifts. Includes 20% shift premium.
