We are currently recruiting HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers for multi-temperature, multi-drop store deliveries. This role involves delivering goods to retail stores with a combination of cage deliveries and some handballing. Shifts are available across AM and PM operations, with flexible start times and consistent work available for reliable drivers.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete multi-drop deliveries (3–8 drops per shift)
- Carry out store deliveries using cages and occasional handball
- Use a PDA system to confirm and process deliveries at each location
- Ensure all deliveries are completed safely and on time
- Follow all driver hours, WTD and site compliance rules
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach at all times
Shift Patterns
- AM Shifts: £17.94-£21.00/hr Start times from 03:00 (typically from 06:00 for agency drivers)
- PM / Afternoon Shifts: £19.46-22.00/hr Start times from 12:00 Last deliveries typically completed by 22:00
- Day Shift Window: 02:00 – 11:59
- Night Shift Window: 12:00 – 01:59
- Minimum 8 hours guaranteed pay per shift
Breaks
- 45-minute deduction for Tacho vehicles
- 30-minute deduction for non-Tacho shifts (including shunters)
Induction
- Standard induction: Approx. 4 hours
- Reduced induction may be conducted due to demand
- Inductions typically start at 06:00
- Immediate starts available following successful induction
Driver Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
- Digital Tachograph Card & CPC Card (in date)
- Maximum 6 penalty points (no DR, DG, DD codes – none active or expired)
- Minimum 6 months licence holding
- Minimum 3 months driving experience
- Ability to commit to shifts (especially Thurs–Sat availability preferred)
- Comfortable with multi-drop and physical aspects of the role
Additional Information
- Bookings for shifts cannot be cancelled after 15:00 the day prior
- Drivers completing less than 6 hours must obtain permission to leave site and ensure timesheets are authorised
- Shunters must be flexible to work up to 10-hour shifts
