We are recruiting experienced, qualified MHE Assessors/Instructors for our automotive manufacturing logistics client in Solihull.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and promote a strong Health & Safety culture across site operations, ensuring it remains the top priority.
  • Deliver and support site inductions covering MHE (Material Handling Equipment) and manual handling for all permanent and agency staff.
  • Assist with Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Deliver high-quality technical training to support operational teams using a variety of methods.
  • Ensure all training is completed, accurately recorded, and compliant with company policies.
  • Develop and maintain a site skills matrix to track operator competence and identify training needs.
  • Monitor and manage MHE operator numbers to reduce risk associated with inexperienced or infrequent users.
  • Maintain operator competence through refresher training, workplace assessments, and follow-up training where unsafe practices or incidents are identified.
  • Support investigations into MHE-related incidents and accidents, providing guidance and recommendations.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying risks and delivering learning from experience briefings to prevent reoccurrence.

Requirements

  • AITT or RTITB Category 1 Accredited Instructor/Examiner Licence (essential).
  • FLT licences covering Reach, Counterbalance, and PPT (essential).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines.
  • Flexible approach to work and shift patterns.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
