Join Rapier Employment as a Transport Administrator and become part of a fast-paced logistics operation where no two nights are the same. We're looking for an organised, proactive, and reliable Transport Administrator to support our busy transport team in Allington. If you have transport administration experience, excellent communication skills, and enjoy working in a fast-moving environment, we'd love to hear from you.

Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off 18:00-06:00 (Night Shift)

Pay & Benefits:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting driver pre-briefs at the start of each shift
  • Contacting stores ahead of scheduled deliveries
  • Issuing drivers with all required paperwork and equipment
  • Completing agency documentation and carrying out licence checks
  • Monitoring driver progress using Microlise and escalating issues where necessary
  • Allocating and amending driver workloads throughout the shift
  • Keeping transport management systems accurate and up to date
  • Ensuring compliance with driver hours, vehicle defects, and fleet legal requirements
  • Liaising with warehouse teams and shunters to ensure on-time departures
  • Coordinating vehicle and trailer availability
  • Carrying out driver debriefs and completing associated administration
  • Producing KPI reports and updating spreadsheets
  • Communicating effectively with First Line Managers (FLMs) and Shift Managers
  • Following all company Health & Safety procedures
  • Building positive working relationships with drivers and site teams
  • Adapting to changing operational demands within a busy transport environment

What We're Looking For:

  • Experienced in Transport Administration, Transport Planning, or a similar logistics role
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
  • Comfortable learning and using transport management systems such as Microlise
  • Organised, accurate, and able to prioritise workload effectively
  • A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
  • Customer-focused with a professional telephone manner
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering high standards
  • Calm under pressure and able to thrive in a fast-paced transport environment
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
