We are recruiting a reliable, experienced, hard‑working warehouse operative for our aerospace customer in Coleshill, Birmingham, B46. This is a permanent position via Rapier Employment. Our client is a market‑leading adhesive, sealant and lubricant distributor within the aerospace industry.

The Role

  • Work in a modern, clean and well‑lit environment.
  • The initial element of the role covers picking, packing, put‑away and finalising.
  • Once trained, you may be offered additional training in areas such as exports and goods in.
  • You will be expected to lift items of various weights up to 15 kg.
  • You will use an order‑picking scanning gun and require good numeracy and literacy to locate items using a numbered system.
  • An external counterbalance/Bendi licence is an advantage but the majority of the work is manual.

Hours of work

  • Monday – Friday 08:30 – 17:30 (11:30 finish every other Friday)
  • 2 Ă— 15 minute breaks
  • 1 Ă— 30 minute lunch break
  • 37.5 hours paid

Pay rate

  • ÂŁ24,000 per annum (paid hourly).
  • Pay increases with additional skills.
  • After probation, enrolment into the company’s quarterly bonus scheme.
  • Overtime on Friday afternoons and occasionally Saturdays during busy periods.

Duties

  • Receiving inbound shipments.
  • Picking.
  • Packing.
  • Put‑away and finalising.
  • Checking batch codes, expiry codes and serial numbers to ensure correct stock.
  • Logging stock into the warehouse management system before put‑away.
  • Other general warehouse duties.

Requirements

  • Recently held a warehouse operative position for a minimum of 12 months.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking, understanding).
  • Minimum 2 years warehouse operative experience.
  • Previous experience in data entry.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • A strong, stable work history.
  • Physically fit.
  • A flexible, helpful attitude.
  • Desire to grow within the company.
  • Willingness to learn and take on extra responsibilities.
  • Bendi licence or counterbalance (desired).
  • Ability to travel to Coleshill area for 08:30 am, Monday to Friday.
  • Right to work in the UK.
