Rapier Employment are seeking a Transport Night Supervisor to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
- Oversee and support the performance of drivers to ensure they meet the established Key Performance Indicators.
- Ensure all transport operations are carried out in compliance with safety regulations and legal requirements, while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Make necessary changes to daily transport plans if issues arise to ensure smooth operations.
- Proactively address and resolve any issues related to transport operations or coordination with the warehouse to minimize delays and maintain productivity.
- Lead daily briefings and debriefings with drivers to communicate important updates, safety information, and expectations for the shift.
- Manage Driver performance to identify any major discrepancies in accordance with the Daily Transport Plan.
- Ensure drivers and the fleet comply with all relevant legal, safety, and operational standards, ensuring smooth and lawful operation throughout the shift.
- Communications on events and foreseen road closures between sites.
- Communications to senior members of the contract to ensure knowledge is shared.
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
- Previous and practical experience as a Transport Supervisor or Team Leader within a logistics environment. - Essential
- Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain practices. – Essential
- Previous experience of the preparation and distribution of volume orders.
- Computer literate with a practical knowledge of logistics software packages.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to supervise, organise and train direct reports.
- A recognised qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics will be well-received.
