About the Team

The General Ledger Accounting team acts as the financial architects of Rapid7, transforming complex global data into clear insights that drive executive decisions. By leading the global close and consolidation process, this collaborative team partners across Tax, Treasury, and Legal to solve intricate puzzles and build scalable operational infrastructure.

About the Role

As a Senior Manager, Accounting, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and scale the monthly close and consolidation processes across all international subsidiaries while ensuring rigorous compliance with US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley frameworks. Specifically, your focus will be to:

  • Direct international general ledger activities, overseeing complex balance sheet reconciliations and high-level variance analyses to ensure financial precision.
  • Spearhead international statutory filing and statutory audit processes, establishing robust frameworks for translating to local accounting standards.
  • Evaluate complex or ambiguous technical accounting items and partner closely with the technical accounting team to define corporate-wide accounting treatments.
  • Design and maintain internal controls related to global financial close, ensuring risk mitigation practices continuously evolve alongside company growth.
  • Champion strategic initiatives to improve operational efficiency, advanced automation, and global scalability of the corporate close process.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting professionals by managing performance, setting high-performance goals, and creating targeted professional development paths.

The skills and qualities you'll bring include:

  • Bring extensive accounting experience, including a proven track record within a high-growth public company or global operational environment.
  • Hold an active professional certification such as ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent with at least 5 years PQE.
  • Bring proven people management experience with a track record of leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing accounting teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate deep technical mastery of US GAAP, SOX compliance, and international statutory reporting requirements.
  • Apply advanced critical thinking and data analysis skills to resolve highly complex global financial challenges and process bottlenecks.
  • Exhibit a process-optimization mindset focused on driving organizational change, workflow automation, and sustainable operational scaling.
  • Master the administration or optimization of enterprise-level financial systems such as NetSuite, Concur, or Coupa.
  • Hold self and others responsible for driving outcomes and meeting commitments that deliver value for the business and our customers by establishing ownership and clear expectations within teams.
