Rapid7 Cybersecurity Advisors partner with customers on vulnerability management, application security, and threat detection and incident response. You will work with customers to increase their resilience against threats through tailored mitigation recommendations, proactive threat awareness reporting, and regular discussions about IT security initiatives and best practices.
About the Team
Rapid7’s Managed Services provide world-class, 24/7/365 threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and application security services. As a member of the Cybersecurity Advisor team, you will be on the front-lines helping clients defend against and respond to threats.
About the Role
As a Cybersecurity Advisor, your primary responsibility will be to act as a trusted partner to our customers, helping them optimize their security programs through proactive guidance and expert advisement. Specifically, your focus will be to:
- Ensure the Rapid7 Platform is functional and coordinate with Managed Services and Support teams when needed.
- Collaborate with Analysts and Scan Operators to communicate recommendations to customers.
- Review and generate high-quality, accurate, and contextual deliverables for complex technical accounts.
- Provide subject matter expertise on industry attack trends and defenses.
- Demonstrate deep understanding of Rapid7 products and guide customers to optimize usage.
- Build and maintain long-lasting advisory relationships with key stakeholders.
- Guide clients through findings and provide expertise for incident response activities.
- Support onboarding and technology deployment processes.
- Gather client feedback to influence the Managed Services roadmap.
- Partner with leadership to identify scaling opportunities and service improvements.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks or challenges in customer relationships.
The skills and qualities you’ll bring include:
- Associates Degree in Information Technology, or two or more years of related experience.
- 3-4 years of experience in Information Security or a related discipline.
- Industry-related certifications (e.g., A+, Network+, Sec+, Cloud+, CCSP).
- Prior technology deployment and configuration experience.
- Experience with security frameworks and concepts.
- Prior experience in managed or enterprise information security services, vulnerability management, incident response, forensics, malware analysis, penetration testing, or network defense.
- Strong understanding of technical concepts and experience advising customers on platform usage for a faster Return on Investment (ROI).
- Problem-solving mentality with the ability to navigate complex situations.
