Are you an experienced Health, Safety & Compliance professional who enjoys being hands-on and making a genuine difference?
Rapid Repair Network (RRN) is a successful, growing same-day mobile vehicle repairer, providing services to the Fleet and Insurance sectors. We are looking for a Health, Safety & Compliance Manager to join us on a part-time basis and take ownership of developing and embedding our health, safety and compliance framework.
This is a practical role, combining office and field-based work, with the opportunity to build a positive safety culture across a growing business.
What will you do?
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Establish and maintain core health & safety policies, practices and training for employed staff.
- Develop appropriate COSHH practices for our mobile vehicle repair environment.
- Deliver a rolling programme of electronic toolbox talks and follow up outstanding actions.
- Complete compliance checks and training for new starters, including BDS and manual handling, and manage ongoing requirements such as isocyanate testing.
- Use technology to ensure RAMS are in place, understood and followed.
- Implement van checks and safe driving practices.
- Establish and manage an appropriate safe system of work for subcontractors.
- Introduce effective near-miss reporting, using learning to prevent incidents from escalating.
- Act as the point of escalation for accidents and incidents and own the RIDDOR process.
- Carry out appropriate compliance checks, audits and field visits, identifying and addressing risks.
- Provide monthly health, safety and compliance reporting to the Board for inclusion in the Board pack.
- Support the business with other health, safety and compliance requirements as needed.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for a practical, proactive Health & Safety professional with experience in an operational environment.
You will ideally have:
- Experience in a health & safety or compliance role, ideally within automotive, engineering, logistics, construction or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK health & safety requirements, including COSHH, RAMS, manual handling and incident reporting.
- Experience developing health & safety systems, delivering training/toolbox talks and carrying out audits and risk assessments.
- Experience managing accidents, investigations and RIDDOR reporting.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge unsafe practices and take a positive, coaching-led approach.
- A willingness to travel and work directly with technicians, operational teams and subcontractors.
