About the Firm: We are partnering with a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Harrow that offers a comprehensive range of financial services to a wide portfolio of clients, including sole traders, SMEs, and limited companies. The firm prides itself on its client-focused approach, supportive team culture, and high professional standards. They are now looking to appoint a Part-Time Payroll Manager to take ownership of their payroll function and ensure accurate and timely processing for a variety of clients.
Role Overview: This is a standalone role suited to someone highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident managing multiple client payrolls independently. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role within an accountancy practice or payroll bureau setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for a diverse client base
- Set up new starters, process leavers, and handle changes to employee details
- Administer pension contributions and auto-enrolment duties
- Process statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP) and ensure full HMRC compliance
- Submit RTI reports including FPS, EPS, and year-end forms (P60, P45)
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure GDPR compliance
- Handle payroll queries from clients professionally and efficiently
- Liaise with HMRC and pension providers where required
- Stay updated on payroll legislation and ensure all processes remain compliant
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience managing payrolls, preferably in an accountancy practice or bureau environment
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory obligations
- Proficiency in using payroll software (BrightPay)
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills
