On behalf of our client - a well-established group operating within the property development and hospitality sector - we are seeking a high-calibre Head of Finance.
Role Overview
This role is suited to a commercially astute, qualified accountant with experience at a senior level across both financial control and strategic reporting. You will lead the finance function across UK and offshore entities, managing a small team, and reporting directly to the Managing Director. Your remit will span financial reporting, statutory accounts, VAT, CIS, compliance, and strategic planning. Strong leadership, clear communication, and sound judgement will be key to succeeding in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the group finance function, overseeing all financial activity across onshore and offshore entities.
- Prepare group consolidated accounts under IFRS and UK GAAP.
- Deliver monthly management accounts, annual budgets, cash flow forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and external stakeholders.
- Lead the statutory accounts process for all trading entities and manage the audit cycle.
- Maintain oversight of VAT, CIS, payroll, and financial compliance.
- Administer bank accounts, monitor cash flow, and manage aged debt.
- Produce insightful reporting and financial analysis for the Board.
- Motivate and manage a small finance team to ensure deliverables and standards are met.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualified experience.
- Background in property development and/or hospitality is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role.
- Technically strong in financial and management reporting, compliance, and planning.
- Comfortable leading a small team while influencing at board level.
- Excellent systems skills, particularly Excel; familiarity with QuickBooks and Xero is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to challenge and advise at senior levels.
- Commercially aware with a proactive, hands-on approach.
