Rapid Recruit are looking for an experienced Manual Machinist on behalf of our client in Nelson.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating manual lathes, milling machines and other workshop machinery.
- Producing precision components to engineering drawings.
- Setting and adjusting machines as required.
- Working to tight tolerances and maintaining high quality standards.
- Carrying out first-off and in-process checks.
- Selecting the correct tooling and cutting equipment.
- Deburring and finishing components.
- Following health & safety and quality procedures.
- Keeping the work area clean and tidy.
- Working as part of a small, skilled engineering team.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Manual Machinist.
- Experience using manual milling machines and lathes.
- Able to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Confident using measuring equipment.
- Good understanding of precision engineering and tight tolerances.
- Good attention to detail.
- Reliable and able to work well as part of a team.
- Time-served engineering background would be advantageous.
