Rapid Recruit are currently looking for experienced CNC Machinist’s to join our client’s team in Nelson.
The successful candidate will support the business as a programmer, setter and operator of CNC Lathes working to manageable deadlines and producing a quality product in line with company quality policy and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC Lathes using engineering drawings and existing programmes.
- Write and prove CNC programmes when required.
- Set up tooling and prepare machines for production.
- Carry out first-off and in-process inspections, taking responsibility for the quality of your own work.
- Deburr components where possible.
- Run and manage more than one machine when required.
- Complete relevant production paperwork and shop floor records.
- Carry out basic machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and tidy.
- Plan ahead and prepare for the next job.
- Work as part of a team and contribute to improvements within the CNC section.
- Maintain good timekeeping and be flexible to support other areas of the factory when required.
Requirements
- Time-served and experience working with CNC Lathes.
- Experience with Mazak, Doosan and/or Citizen machinery would be beneficial.
- Good problem-solving and practical skills.
- Methodical approach to machine setting.
- Good eye for quality and attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Self-motivated and able to manage workload effectively.
