We are looking for PRODUCTION MACHINE OPERATORS for our busy food production client West of Reading.
Previous experience is preferred, but knowledge of assembly, mechanics, engineering or factory experience is an advantage as full training will be given.
You will be employed in the operation of the production machines and line production equipment including:
- Operating the production machines and ancillary plant in the most efficient way and understanding the filling and labelling process as well as the Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintaining the machines in running order at all times, repairing minor breakdowns and changing over the machines for product and line changes.
- Carrying out and understanding the cleaning procedures and being flexible with regards to the shifts, production and teams.
- Taking instructions from the Supervisor or key operator to manufacture the product to the required specification, in a quality and hygienic manner, ensuring that the weights, vacuum, torque and codes for each product are correct.
- Ensuring that the labels and packaging are correct for the product and that all relevant production paperwork is completed to specific time deadlines.
Experience and knowledge of mechanical equipment is a major advantage, but full training will be given.
This will be on rotating day shifts from 7am-3pm and 3pm-11pm, or night shift only from 11pm-7am.
There is a 3 month temp to perm probationary period whereas a permanent contract will be offered along with a pay rise. Day shift including shift allowance starts at £10.69 per hour and night shift at £11.49 per hour. For experienced line setters, pay rates start from £11.28 per hour increasing up to £13.06 once full training has been completed.
