Rapid Personnel are recruiting for a results-driven and commercially focused Business Development Manager to support the growth of a stainless steel fabrication business. This is a predominantly remote based role focused on generating new business, building long-term client relationships, and driving revenue growth across key industrial sectors. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales along with a strong understanding of manufacturing, fabrication, or laser cutting processes.
Key Responsibilities- Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities across the UK
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to closing deals
- Consistently achieve or exceed sales targets and KPIs
- Prepare and present quotations, negotiating pricing, terms, and delivery schedules
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the sales process
- Understand customer requirements and deliver practical, solution-based outcomes
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Leverage industry knowledge to identify opportunities within manufacturing, stainless steel, fabrication, and laser cutting sectors
- Represent the business professionally at client meetings and industry events
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity and pipeline
- Provide regular updates, forecasts, and market insights to management
- Proven success in a Sales / Business Development role
- Strong industry knowledge in manufacturing, stainless steel, fabrication, or laser cutting
- Willingness and ability to travel across the UK for customer visits
- Flexibility to attend the Berkshire site as required (2-3 days during the first month, then approximately 1 day per month/quarter)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently
- Experience interpreting technical drawings
- Familiarity with CAD software
