Location: Site based in Berkshire. Primarily remote with minimal requirement to travel to site after first quarter.

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 DOE + commission.

Hours: Monday to Friday, flexible working hours (37.5 hours per week).

Rapid Personnel are recruiting for a results-driven and commercially focused Business Development Manager to support the growth of a stainless steel fabrication business. This is a predominantly remote based role focused on generating new business, building long-term client relationships, and driving revenue growth across key industrial sectors. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales along with a strong understanding of manufacturing, fabrication, or laser cutting processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities across the UK
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to closing deals
  • Consistently achieve or exceed sales targets and KPIs
  • Prepare and present quotations, negotiating pricing, terms, and delivery schedules
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the sales process
  • Understand customer requirements and deliver practical, solution-based outcomes
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Leverage industry knowledge to identify opportunities within manufacturing, stainless steel, fabrication, and laser cutting sectors
  • Represent the business professionally at client meetings and industry events
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity and pipeline
  • Provide regular updates, forecasts, and market insights to management
Essential Requirements
  • Proven success in a Sales / Business Development role
  • Strong industry knowledge in manufacturing, stainless steel, fabrication, or laser cutting
  • Willingness and ability to travel across the UK for customer visits
  • Flexibility to attend the Berkshire site as required (2-3 days during the first month, then approximately 1 day per month/quarter)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently
Desirable Skills
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings
  • Familiarity with CAD software
