We are looking for Production Machine Operators for our busy food production client West of Reading. Previous experience is preferred, but knowledge of assembly, mechanics, engineering or factory experience is an advantage as full training will be given.
Responsibilities:
- Operate production machines and line production equipment efficiently, understanding the filling and labelling process and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain machines in running order, repair minor breakdowns, and change over machines for product and line changes.
- Carry out cleaning procedures and demonstrate flexibility with regards to shifts, production and teams.
- Follow instructions from the Supervisor or key operator to manufacture the product to the required specification in a quality and hygienic manner, ensuring that weights, vacuum, torque and product codes are correct.
- Ensure labels and packaging are correct and complete all relevant production paperwork within specified time deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience in production work or knowledge of assembly, mechanics, engineering or related factory environments.
- Mechanical equipment knowledge is a major advantage.
- Ability to follow safety and hygiene standards.
- Willingness to undergo full training if necessary.
Shift Details:
- Rotating day shifts: 7 am–3 pm and 3 pm–11 pm.
- Night shift only: 11 pm–7 am.
Compensation & Contract:
- Day shift with shift allowance: £10.69 per hour.
- Night shift: £11.49 per hour.
- Full training successful line setters: £11.28–13.06 per hour.
- 3‑month temporary-to-permanent probationary period; permanent contract offered with pay rise.
