Help the NHS scale intelligent access to care. Rapid Health's Smart Triage is already transforming how millions of patients access the NHS. We're now entering our next phase of growth - bringing Smart Triage to more systems, more partners, and more patients – at speed and with tremendous positive impact.

We're looking for a Clinical Business Development VP with a clinical background to help scale our impact across the NHS and wider healthcare sector. This is a role for someone bringing both credibility and commercial acumen - a healthcare professional who understands the pressures and opportunities facing clinical and operational leaders, and who can translate that insight into trust‑building, influence, and growth.

You’ll have worked inside or alongside NHS organisations, and you'll know what it means to navigate clinical governance, integrated care systems, and procurement processes. You'll use that knowledge to open doors, shape conversations, and position Rapid Health as an essential partner to the health systems we serve.

You’ll influence our go‑to‑market strategy, working with product, marketing, and customer success to deliver our business plan. You’ll help shape propositions customers want and need to buy, create talk tracks that cut through the noise, and ensure every conversation adds value. You’ll also help build the playbook for a conveyor belt of new product launches.

You’ll work directly with the CEO, lead NHS and private sector engagement, and represent Rapid Health at the highest levels. You'll bring credibility, clinical insight, and clear communication - translating the realities of frontline care into outcomes that matter to commissioners, executives, and clinicians alike.

This isn't a corporate BD role. It's for someone who thrives in a flat, fast‑moving environment where results matter more than hierarchy - and where your clinical background gives you crucial context and a genuine edge.

You’ll thrive here if you:

  • Have a clinical background (e.g. GP, nurse, pharmacist, AHP) and a deep understanding of NHS pressures and priorities.
  • Have direct experience partnering with, or working within, NHS organisations - ICBs, Trusts, PCNs, or national bodies.
  • Can translate clinical and operational insight into propositions that resonate with senior NHS leaders.
  • Operate as a credible, trusted voice with both clinical and executive stakeholders.
  • Are commercially sharp and energized by growth - this is a business development role, not a clinical one.
  • Thrive on pace, accountability, and impact - with no organisational layers or politics to hide behind.

Purpose

To lead NHS and private sector engagement, drive adoption of Rapid Health products, and shape the commercial growth strategy for Rapid Health. Your clinical background will be central to how we build relationships, win trust, and demonstrate value to healthcare organisations across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead national NHS and private‑sector engagement across ICBs, Trusts, PCNs, and national bodies, as well as health insurers, in‑sourcers, and other healthcare partners.
  • Use your clinical background to build peer‑level credibility with NHS clinical and operational leaders - opening relationships that others cannot.
  • Develop and execute the commercial strategy and sales plans to achieve agreed business targets.
  • Act as a credible challenger - helping clients reframe problems, challenge assumptions, and align Rapid Health's solutions to their real operational and clinical needs.
  • Collaborate with product, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure all functions are aligned in delivering business goals and a consistent customer experience.
  • Define key talk tracks, value propositions, and go‑to‑market narratives that resonate with NHS clinical and operational decision‑makers.
  • Support a continual pipeline of new product launches - joining up marketing, sales, and feedback loops for effective positioning and traction.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a small, high‑performing business development team as the organisation scales.
  • Represent Rapid Health externally at key forums, clinical events, and strategic discussions.
  • Contribute to the wider leadership team in areas such as culture, hiring, and strategic planning.
  • Identify, secure, and deliver partnership, pilot, and funding opportunities.

Ideal Profile

Clinical Background

  • A registered clinician (e.g. a consultant, GP, advanced nurse practitioner, or similar) or a healthcare professional with direct NHS clinical or operational experience.
  • Demonstrable understanding of how NHS organisations are structured, funded, and how clinical decisions are made - from primary care through to system‑level commissioning.
  • A track record of working in partnership with NHS organisations, whether as a clinician, clinical lead, clinical informatics professional, or healthcare consultant.

Commercial Acumen

  • Experience in a senior business development, commercial, or growth role - ideally within health tech, pharma, medtech, or the wider healthcare sector.
  • Demonstrable success in scaling revenues and driving adoption in high‑growth, regulated environments.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute GTM strategies across product, marketing, and customer success.
  • Strong track record in proposition design and crafting narratives that win complex, multi‑stakeholder sales.

Personal Attributes

  • Exceptional communication and relationship‑building skills - comfortable in a clinical board room and an executive suite alike.
  • Natural problem‑solving skills with the ability to listen carefully to customers and develop scalable solutions which deliver clinical and economic benefits.
  • Hands‑on and execution‑focused - comfortable operating without large teams or legacy systems.
  • Energised by a fast‑moving, flat, and purpose‑driven culture where impact matters more than hierarchy.
  • A genuine belief in the power of technology to improve care - and the credibility to make that case.
