We are looking for a talented Middleweight DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will enhance our development pipeline, optimise deployment processes, and ensure site reliability for our global e-commerce platform. Working collaboratively with engineers across multiple disciplines including frontend, backend, data and QA, you will implement CI/CD pipelines, develop monitoring solutions, and ensure our systems are secure, reliable, and scalable.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, integration, and deployment
- Manage and optimise cloud environments to ensure cost-efficiency, scalability, and high availability
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
- Develop automation tools to streamline operations and improve system reliability
- Ensure security best practices in system configurations and deployments
- Support production incidents and troubleshoot issues across the platform
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks in development and deployment processes
What Weβre Looking For
Essential experience
- 2+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, SRE, or similar role
- Proven experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Experience with containerisation technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
- Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Python or similar scripting languages
- GIT version control

- Understanding the concepts behind software engineering rather than merely knowing a particular language/framework
- Testing (Using tools such as Jest)

A typical day might look like
- Writing Terraform IaC to provision and manage AWS infrastructure
- Building or optimising CI/CD pipelines in Gitlab CI to improve deployment reliability
- Reviewing infrastructure changes and deployment processes with Cloud Engineers
- Responding to monitoring alerts and investigating performance issues in production
- Collaborating with engineers to improve Developer Experience through better tooling
- Implementing security scanning tools within the deployment pipeline
- Participating in incident retrospectives to improve system reliability
- Documenting infrastructure patterns and runbooks
