Ranson Barnes Recruitment Ltd are recruiting for an Account Manager to join a growing commercial team, managing a portfolio of independent retail customers across the UK. This is a relationship-focused, office-based sales role where you will be responsible for maintaining regular contact with customers, ensuring consistent ordering patterns, and identifying opportunities to grow account spend. The customer base consists primarily of independent, owner-managed businesses, making strong communication and relationship-building skills essential. The position is predominantly telephone-based and suited to someone who enjoys managing a high volume of accounts, building customer loyalty, and delivering excellent service while working towards sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of independent retail customer accounts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners and key decision-makers
  • Conduct regular outbound calls to ensure customer engagement and consistent ordering
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales through upselling and cross-selling products
  • Reactivate dormant or declining accounts and drive customer retention
  • Provide quotations and process customer orders accurately
  • Manage a large number of smaller accounts effectively
  • Maintain accurate customer records, activity logs, and order information within the CRM system
