About Rankin & Co
Rankin & Co is a well-established, independent production company led by internationally renowned photographer Rankin. The company produces high-quality photographic and film projects across commercial, editorial, and creative work, alongside the production of Rankin’s in-house independent magazine titles. As a small, collaborative team, we take a hands‑on, detail-driven approach to production and work closely across all areas of the business.
The Role
We are seeking a highly organised, hands‑on Production Manager with a can‑do attitude and proven editorial production experience. The role involves producing work for Rankin himself, including personal and commissioned projects, as well as producing and supporting the company’s in‑house magazine titles. This is a practical, detail-focused position within a small team and is ideal for someone looking to grow into a Producer role, eventually taking ownership of the majority of Rankin’s projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and manage small‑scale editorial shoots within the building from planning through to delivery
- Produce and support editorial shoots for Rankin’s in‑house magazine titles
- Support the production of larger commercial, editorial, and creative projects for Rankin
- Provide production and administrative support for Rankin and his personal work
- Conduct project research, scheduling, budgeting support, and production administration
- Source, option, and book freelance editorial and production crew
- Prepare detailed call sheets for shoots
- Research, organise, and book travel and accommodation for shoots and projects
- Coordinate equipment, locations, permits, and all shoot logistics
- Oversee post‑production processes where required, including liaising with retouchers, editors, and post‑production suppliers
- Organise and manage job wraps for projects you are responsible for
- Act as a clear point of communication between creative, editorial, production, and external teams
- Maintain accurate production documentation, budgets, and schedules
- Travel occasionally for shoots and project delivery

Skills & Experience
- Proven experience producing editorial shoots (essential)
- Strong understanding of editorial production workflows
- Experience sourcing and booking freelance crew
- Experience in film photography and/or magazine publishing is a strong bonus
