Rangeways Road Surgery is a very friendly, small Practice located on a residential estate in Kingswinford. Our current list size is approximately 6200. We are committed to providing the best care and service to our patients who are the main focus and priority of the Practice; the successful candidate will be required to share this commitment.

We are looking to appoint a salaried GP who is a highly motivated, compassionate, enthusiastic and dedicated individual, patient-centred with excellent communication and team working skills to enhance our team. This position would be salaried for 4 sessions per week with the possibility of Partnership in the future for the right candidate (no buy-in to premises is required). An interest in diabetes or sexual health would be an advantage although not essential, and we are keen to discuss any individual areas of interest or expertise.

We support our colleagues' personal development and encourage ongoing learning and training. Salary is negotiable. We offer NHS pension, 6 weeks annual leave and 1 week's study leave pro rata.

Main duties of the job

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

About us

Rangeways Road Surgery has a strong dynamic team including 2 partners, 2 salaried GPs, 2 Practice Nurses, Nurse Associate and HCA supported by a strong admin team which includes a Docman Workflow Administrator. We use EMIS Web, Docman and AccuRx and are also a final year teaching practice, usually having 4 placements per year and aspire to teach registrars long term. We have excellent working relationships with our PCN supplying physio FCPs, Health and Wellbeing Coach, Occupational Therapist, Practice Nurse Prescriber and a team of pharmacists. There is a low visit rate and a good work-life balance is encouraged. Patient satisfaction is high with good feedback on the GP survey, NHS Choices and the Friends & Family test, and in our latest CQC inspection October 2025 we were rated as 'Good' across all areas.

About the area

Kingswinford is within close proximity to Stourbridge, Dudley and Wolverhampton with good commuter links and an approx. drive of 30-40 minutes to Birmingham. As well as having the urban lifestyle on our doorstep, we also benefit from being on the edge of beautiful countryside. The area also offers many good schools and colleges.

Learning and Development

All staff will be required to partake and complete mandatory training as directed by the training coordinator, as well as participating in the practice training programme. Staff will also be permitted (subject to approval) to undertake external training courses which will enhance their knowledge and skills, progress their career and ultimately, enable them to improve processes and service delivery. All staff are to recognise the significance of collaborative working. Teamwork is essential in multidisciplinary environments. Effective communication is essential and all staff must ensure they communicate in a manner which enables the sharing of information in an appropriate manner.

Service Delivery

Staff at Rangeways Road Surgery must adhere to the information contained within practice policies and regional directives, ensuring protocols are adhered to at all times. Staff will be given detailed information during the induction process regarding policy and procedure.

Security

The security of the practice is the responsibility of all personnel. Staff must ensure they remain vigilant at all times and report any suspicious activity immediately to their line manager. Under no circumstances are staff to share the codes for the door locks with anyone and are to ensure that restricted areas remain effectively secured.

Professional Conduct

At Rangeways Road Surgery, staff are required to dress appropriately for their role. Clinical staff must dress in accordance with their role.

Primary Responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

  • The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
  • The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
  • Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
  • Effective management of long-term conditions
  • Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
  • On a rotational basis undertake duty doctor roles
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
  • Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
  • Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
  • Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
  • Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) of the DQOF
  • Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
  • Contribute effectively to the development and maintenance of the practice including; clinical governance, training, financial management and HR
  • Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
  • Prepare and complete the revalidation process
  • Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
  • Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines

Qualifications

  • Qualified GP
  • MRCGP Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent
  • JCPTGP General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
  • Full GMC Registration
