REPORTING LINE: Head of Soccer Academies
THE ROLE
The Senior Soccer Academies Executive will support the development and delivery of the Rangers Soccer Academies business across Scotland, working closely with the Soccer Academies Manager to grow participation, strengthen partnerships and generate sustainable income.
The role will lead the development and delivery of the Education and Engagement pathway, including school programmes and partnerships with colleges and universities, while also driving the continued growth of the Rangers Online Academy through engaging content, new partnerships and strong participant engagement.
Working with colleagues and external partners, the successful candidate will identify opportunities to develop new programmes, secure partnerships across the public and third sectors, and generate new revenue streams.
They will also support the development of the volunteer workforce within the higher and further education pathway by providing industry insight, professional development and practical learning opportunities.
Success in the role will be measured through the growth of participation, the development of sustainable partnerships, increased revenue and the continued success of the Education and Engagement pathway and the Rangers Online Academy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the delivery and continued development of Rangers Soccer Academies programmes across Scotland.
- Support the delivery of Rangers Soccer Academies programmes across Scotland, providing on‑field coaching and operational support where required.
- Help grow participation across the Education and Engagement pathway and the Rangers Online Academy, contributing towards agreed participation and income targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, colleges, universities, clubs, community organisations and public and third sector partners to support the growth of Soccer Academies programmes.
- Identify opportunities to develop new programmes, partnerships and funding opportunities that expand the reach of Rangers Soccer Academies.
- Work closely with the Marketing, Communications, Content and Commercial teams to promote Soccer Academies programmes and ensure the Rangers brand is represented consistently.
- Support the development of the Rangers Online Academy by creating engaging content, developing partnerships and encouraging continued participation.
- Recruit, coordinate and support student placements and volunteers, ensuring safeguarding, training and relevant HR procedures are followed.
- Support the development of the volunteer workforce through mentoring, professional development and practical learning opportunities.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service, building positive relationships with participants, parents, education providers and partner organisations.
- Represent Rangers Soccer Academies at events, meetings and partner activities, helping to build relationships and promote the programme.
- Ensure all programmes are delivered safely and in line with the club's safeguarding, child protection and health and safety policies.
- Maintain accurate records and complete administrative tasks to support the effective delivery of programmes.
- Carry out any other duties reasonably requested by the Head of Soccer Academies.
- THE CANDIDATE
- JOB KNOWLEDGE
- Understanding of the public and third sector.
- Understanding of the education system within Scotland, both at national and local level.
- Previous experience in delivering staff/volunteer training sessions, both theoretical and practical. Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent presentation skills and the ability to deliver to large groups of people.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum HND Sports Coaching with Development or equivalent proven experience working within a similar role.
- UEFA A License
- Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline.
