THE ROLE
The Media, Content & Marketing Manager will lead and deliver all media, communications, content, digital and marketing activity for Rangers Women’s FC. This is a unique opportunity for someone who is passionate about women's football and excited by the chance to make a real impact.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director of Rangers Women’s FC, the successful candidate will take ownership of the Women's Team's communications and marketing activity, helping to increase attendances and showcase the team across all club and external platforms.
Embedded within the Women's Team, the successful candidate will work closely with players, coaches and staff to identify opportunities, create compelling content, manage media activity and deliver campaigns that bring the team closer to supporters.
This is a broad, varied and hands-on role, offering the opportunity to shape and grow the profile of Rangers Women's Team. No two days will be the same, and the successful candidate will be comfortable balancing a wide range of responsibilities across media, content, marketing and communications.
We recognise that few candidates will have extensive experience across every aspect of the role. We are looking for someone with strong foundations, a positive mindset and the enthusiasm to learn, develop and embrace this role.
The successful candidate will receive support from the club's central design, photography, communications and content teams where appropriate, but will be expected to lead and deliver all the Women's Team's day-to-day promotional activity with drive, creativity and minimal supervision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing & Promotion
- Lead the marketing and promotion of Rangers Women’s Team across all channels.
- Promote fixtures, ticket sales, events, commercial partnerships and related initiatives.
- Identify innovative opportunities to increase awareness of the Women's Team and attract new supporters.
- Develop creative campaigns that strengthen the Rangers Women’s brand and support commercial objectives.
Content & Digital
- Own the Women's Team's digital and social media channels.
- Develop and manage the team's content calendar.
- Create engaging written and video content across club platforms.
- Film and edit video content, including training, matchdays, interviews and behind-the-scenes features.
- Support the positive image and promotion of the Girls Academy and Pre-Professional programme.
Media & Communications
- Lead all media and communications activity for the Women's Team.
- Act as the primary media contact, managing all media enquiries and interview requests.
- Draft press releases, media briefings, statements and other communications materials.
- Support players, coaches and the Managing Director with interviews, media appearances and communications advice.
- Lead matchday media operations, including accreditation, media access, broadcast requirements and interview scheduling.
- Take ownership of the Women’s Team's media, content, communications and marketing activity.
- Build trusted relationships with players, coaches and staff to identify stories and promotional opportunities.
- Coordinate volunteers and part‑time staff supporting media and content delivery.
THE CANDIDATE
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: marketing, media, communications, journalism, content creation, digital or social media.
- Experience creating engaging content across digital and social media platforms.
- Experience filming and editing video content using professional or equivalent editing software.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and delivering work to tight deadlines.
- Educated to degree level, or equivalent, in Marketing, Media, Communications, Journalism, Digital Content or a related discipline.
- Experience working in football, sport or another fast‑paced environment.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong storytelling and creative thinking skills.
- Confidence building relationships with players, coaches, media and stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and take ownership of a broad workload.
- Comfortable learning new skills and adapting to a varied role.
- Good understanding of football, women's sport and digital audiences.
