THE ROLE

You will contribute to the support and development of our young athletes on their journey to professional football. You will be responsible for delivering 1-1 or small group learning sessions to players engaged in both full-time education, and also the hybrid model of full-time football and education. These sessions will vary between face-to-face and remote online. In addition, the tutor will provide tailored support to those who require extra assistance within their studies. As a club we are passionate about education and place great emphasis on providing a well-rounded education programme both in terms of life and football. This role supports our academy players in balancing their education with the demands of a busy football schedule. Through the delivery of bespoke tuition sessions, this helps players maintain their academic progress and ensures they are supported both in their studies and future development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To provide subject specific tuition to academy players.
  • To plan deliver, assess and report on SQA National 5 and Higher qualifications.
  • To collaborate and liaise with the Academy Education Executive to deliver accurate academic tuition.
  • Provide feedback on progress, attendance and attitude towards learning as required.
  • To act in a manner that supports the Club’s Values.
  • To understand and implement the Club’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines in your role.
  • To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to a safe environment.

THE CANDIDATE

  • SQA N5 Level C or above in relevant subject area.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, PDip Ed, Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training).
  • Previous experience of delivering SQA N5 and Higher qualifications (or similar).
  • Display a high level of loyalty, commitment and adaptability.
  • Personable with an ability to build individual relationships, hardworking and enthusiastic.
  • Empathetic to young athletes attempting to balance football education with Academic education.
  • Ability to adapt to the changing circumstances within a busy elite football environment.
