Ignis Fire & Security is a rapidly growing, customer-focused organisation specialising in the installation, servicing, and maintenance of fire alarm, CCTV, intruder, and access control systems across the West Midlands.

This role is ideal for a highly skilled engineer who wants to step into a senior position with autonomy, technical variety, and the chance to influence standards, mentor junior engineers, and support continued regional expansion. You will work across the West Midlands delivering high-quality service, installation, commissioning, and fault-finding on a wide range of fire and security systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fire & Security Servicing: Diagnose, repair, and maintain fire alarm, intruder, CCTV, and access control systems to industry standards.
  • System Installation: Install and commission new systems across commercial and industrial sites.
  • Technical Leadership: Support, mentor, and guide junior engineers, ensuring best practice and high-quality workmanship.
  • Customer Support: Deliver exceptional customer service, providing clear communication and professional on-site support.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Complete accurate documentation, ensure compliance with BS5839 and relevant standards, and uphold company procedures.
  • On-Call & Overtime: Participate in the call-out rota and take advantage of overtime opportunities.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Fire Alarm Expertise: Strong knowledge of addressable and conventional systems (e.g., Advanced, Kentec, Morley).
  • Security Systems Experience: Skilled with CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control platforms.
  • Industry Qualifications: FIA units, ECS/CSCS, IPAF, or equivalent desirable.
  • Fault-Finding Ability: Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence required.
  • Experience Level: Minimum 5 years in fire & security engineering.
