Herefordshire Council are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced active/integrated transport person to join our Transport Planning Service. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping how people move around Herefordshire, helping to create more connected, healthy and sustainable communities. You’ll be at the heart of delivering ambitious transport and active travel initiatives that make a real difference for residents, businesses and visitors.

In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll take a leading position in developing and delivering transport strategies and projects across the county:
- Lead the delivery of the integrated transport elements of the Local Transport Plan, helping to shape the future of transport in Herefordshire.
- Drive forward the Local Cycling, Walking and Wheeling Infrastructure Plan (LCWWIP), supporting more active and sustainable travel choices.
- Work closely with partners including Active Travel England, local stakeholders and community groups to deliver shared ambitions.
- Commission and manage projects and consultants, ensuring high-quality delivery and value for money.
- Provide expert advice to senior officers and elected members, helping to inform key decisions.
- Engage with the public and stakeholders to develop transport solutions that reflect local needs and priorities.
A degree (or equivalent experience) and a relevant professional qualification in transport, planning or a related field is required, along with:
- Experience in transport planning, policy development or active travel delivery.
- A good understanding of national transport policy and funding opportunities.
- Experience of managing projects, budgets and external consultants.
