We are looking for a skilled and experienced Chartered Building Surveyor to join our Property & Construction Services (P&CS) team. You will play a pivotal role in delivering a high-quality surveying, maintenance, and monitoring service across a varied property portfolio, ensuring our buildings and estates remain safe, compliant, and operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a comprehensive surveying service at Chartered Surveyor level.
- Conduct detailed inspections and condition surveys across a wide range of properties.
- Prepare clear, professional reports including defect diagnosis, priority ratings, and actionable recommendations.
- Identify and address breaches of legislation, including fire safety and DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) compliance issues.
- Develop maintenance strategies and prepare estimates, specifications, drawings, and schedules of works for procurement via quotations or tenders.
- Support the planning and delivery of cyclical, planned, and reactive maintenance.
- Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure quality and efficiency of works delivered.
About You
- MRICS qualified (or equivalent) with proven experience in property surveying and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of building pathology, regulations, and compliance standards.
- Demonstrable experience in condition surveys, reporting, and building maintenance planning.
- Excellent report writing and specification drafting skills.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Organised, methodical, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
