Ready to Drive the Future of Sustainable Construction? Are you a high-energy sales professional with a passion for construction materials and the circular economy? Do you thrive on closing deals, building unbeatable customer relationships, and introducing innovative, low-carbon solutions to the market? If so, we want to hear from you! We are looking for an ambitious, driven Business Development Manager to take charge of aggregate sales across the region, based out of our Tilbury site.

The Company

Our client is a market-leading pioneer in circular construction materials and resource recovery. Operating across the UK, they process Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) from Energy-from-Waste facilities and recycle it into useful materials. Using specialized separation techniques, they pull out leftover metals (like iron, aluminum, and copper) to return them to industrial manufacturing, and process the remaining ash into low-carbon building aggregates. Trusted by local authorities, major contractors, and infrastructure partners nationwide, their sustainable, cost-effective aggregate solutions play a crucial role in lowering carbon footprints, preserving natural resources, and helping the UK achieve its net-zero goals.

The Opportunity

As Business Development Manager, you won’t just be selling a product—you’ll be championing a greener, more sustainable alternative to primary aggregates. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will take full commercial ownership of your territory. You will hunt for new business, manage key accounts, and show civil engineering and infrastructure contractors how secondary aggregates can boost their bottom line while meeting their environmental goals.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Grow the Pipeline: Identify and win exciting new sales opportunities across construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, asphalt, and precast concrete sectors.
  • Manage & Retain: Build long-lasting, trust-based relationships with existing clients (contractors, asphalt producers, precast manufacturers, and local authorities), ensuring top-tier service and repeat business.
  • Commercial Negotiation: Secure sales contracts aligned with revenue targets, healthy margins, and smart pricing strategies.
  • Technical Advice: Act as a trusted partner by advising customers on IBA aggregate specs, applications (e.g., road construction, sub-base, hydraulic bound mixtures, and bulk fills), and performance standards.
  • Champion Sustainability: Work closely with regulatory bodies, environmental agencies, and local authorities to promote the green benefits of IBA aggregates and support product trials and approvals.
  • Collaborate & Deliver: Partner closely with internal production and logistics teams to ensure reliable product delivery and align sales strategies with supply capabilities.

What We’re Looking For

  • You do not need to be an expert in aggregates - the priority criteria we are looking for is a commercial self-starter who knows how to spot an opportunity and close it.
  • Industry Expertise: A proven sales track record in the construction industry.
  • Commercial Acumen: Outstanding negotiation, closing, and pipeline management skills.
  • Relationship Builder: Excellent communication skills with the ability to build confidence at all levels—from on-site contractors to executive decision-makers.
  • Self-Motivated: Independent, proactive, target-driven, and excited by high growth.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Ready to Make an Impact? If you're ready to take the next step in your sales career with a company making a tangible environmental difference, we want to hear from you.
