Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Rochester, Kent (with travel to sites across the South East)

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Taking full commercial leadership on a variety of projects from inception through to final account. This could range from a high-specification new build to a complex, live environment refurbishment in a hospital or school.
  • Managing all aspects of the subcontracting process, from procurement and negotiation to final account settlement.
  • Preparing, submitting, and agreeing monthly valuations, variations, and detailed cost reports.
  • Working closely with project and site management teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, without compromising on quality.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior members of the commercial team.
  • Fostering strong relationships with clients, consultants, and the supply chain.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ready to take the next step or currently in a Senior QS role.
  • A background with a UK main contractor is essential.
  • Experience in either commercial construction (e.g., healthcare, education, fit-out) or residential development. Candidates with a diverse project history are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Strong knowledge of various contract forms (e.g., JCT, D&B).
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and financial management skills.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A relevant degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
