Requirements
- Qualification Pathway 1: A professional social work qualification (NISCC registered without condition), a first-level registered nurse qualification (NMC registered), or an allied health profession qualification (H registered) AND a minimum of 4 years' health and social care experience, including at least 2 years in a relevant operational management capacity.
- Qualification Pathway 2: Hold (or demonstrate you will hold on commencement) a QCF/Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care (Adult Management) Northern Ireland AND a minimum of 5 years' practice experience in health and social care, including at least 2 years in a relevant operational management capacity.
- Proven experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or autism.
- Demonstrated experience managing staff teams in a care environment.
- Experience ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards and legislation.
- Valid UK driving licence with access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes, or access to an alternative form of transport enabling you to meet the role requirements.
- Registered, or eligible for registration, with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC).
- Must be deemed a fit person to act as a Registered Manager by the RQIA.
- Willingness to participate in the organisational management on-call rota.
- Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting and compliance checks, including an Enhanced Access NI check.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall leadership, operational management, and regulatory compliance of the Supported Living Service.
- Fulfill the duties of a Registered Person in strict accordance with the requirements of the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA).
- Provide operational support, direction, and oversight to a direct reporting team of four Assistant Managers.
- Ensure the service consistently delivers safe, high-quality, and person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities and autism.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels, optimal skill mix, and effective deployment to meet service user needs.
- Fully lead the service through internal and external regulatory inspections, maintaining accurate care documentation and reporting systems.
- Implement robust safeguarding procedures, ensuring all concerns are reported and managed in line with statutory guidance.
- Oversee comprehensive care and support plans that reflect individual preferences and promote maximum community inclusion and independence.
- Recruit, manage, and develop a skilled workforce, providing regular supervision, appraisals, and performance management.
- Build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with families, social workers, healthcare professionals, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Responsible for managing the service budget effectively, monitoring expenditure and staffing costs in line with policy.
- Participate in the management on-call rota to provide support outside normal working hours.
