Location: Plymouth, PL6 7BP (Fully On-Site)

Duration: 2 Months (Contract)

Rate: Up to £20.00 per hour + 1.5x Overtime Rate

Important Working Hours Note: This is a standard 5-day work week initially, but throughout August, this role will transition into a mandatory 6-day working week. Please only apply if you can commit to this schedule. Overtime rates of 1.5x apply to hours worked beyond the standard week.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly reliable and observant Site Liaison for a critical 2-month contract based entirely on-site at a world-class medical device manufacturing facility in Plymouth. In this role, you will act as the vital on-site link between the delivery teams and the Project Manager during a key facility upgrade. You will monitor progress, supervise contractors, and ensure communication flows smoothly while maintaining the high standards expected in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Coordination & Liaison
    • Act as the primary on-site point of contact between external contractors/engineers and the Project Manager.
    • Monitor progress on specialized Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) installations within a manufacturing facility. Please note: You are not expected to direct, manage, or instruct the engineers on technical matters; your role is to observe, document, and report back on their progress.
  • Reporting & Compliance Monitoring
    • Provide regular, accurate updates to the Project Manager regarding project milestones, timeline tracking, or potential delays.
    • Ensure contractors strictly adhere to the facility’s stringent health, safety, and protocols, flagging any concerns immediately to management.
  • Material Handling & Ad-Hoc Support
    • Assist with moving products, materials, or equipment safely around the site as required, respecting the facility’s zoning rules.
    • Perform various ad-hoc tasks to support the smooth running of the installation project.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience working on-site within a regulated environment (e.g., medical devices, pharmaceuticals, electronics, or aerospace) is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. You must be comfortable interfacing between technical contractors and engineering management.
  • Attributes: Exceptionally reliable, observant, and detail-oriented. Must be comfortable with light physical tasks, including moving products around the site.
  • Flexibility: Full commitment to the 2-month duration, including the 6-day work weeks throughout August.
