Overview
In this role you will service public sector sites across North East Scotland, delivering planned maintenance, repairs, and minor installations on commercial gas, heating, and HVAC systems. You work within a regional team to ensure safety, compliance, and rapid response to issues. The role combines hands-on technical work with site-wide collaboration and steady exposure to long-term public sector contracts. You will contribute to safe, efficient operations and the ongoing reliability of critical building services. Responsibilities
- Perform planned maintenance, reactive repairs, and fault finding on commercial gas, heating, and HVAC systems
- Carry out new installations and major/minor repairs on client gas infrastructure while complying with safety standards
- Support regional mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and building fabric maintenance tasks as needed
- Participate in regional out-of-hours call-out rota for rapid emergency response
- Ensure all work complies with Gas Safe standards, update PDAs accurately, and maintain statutory compliance on client sites
Key requirements
- Essential commercial gas certifications: COCN1 or CODNC1, TPCP1A, ICPN1, CORT1, CIGA1
- Essential domestic gas certifications: CCN1, CENWAT1, CPA1
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing, HVAC, or Mechanical Engineering
- Active Gas Safe Registration or eligibility for immediate transfer
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Proven experience in commercial gas and HVAC maintenance in facilities management
- Experience in complex mechanical fault finding, routine servicing, and system upgrades
- IPAF and PASMA cards (or willingness to complete refreshers)
- Successful BPSS clearance with clean work history and UK Right to Work
