Randstad are acting on behalf of a leading compliance company who are seeking an experienced and motivated Regional Quality & Safety Lead to support the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and safe asbestos consultancy services across the North East region. Reporting directly to the Group Quality Manager, you will also work functionally alongside the Regional Operations Manager and Health & Safety Advisor. In this vital role, you will be the driving force behind operational excellence, quality assurance, safety compliance, and training across your region. By providing technical coaching and guidance, you will foster a positive and proactive quality and safety culture across the entire operational team.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead technical, surveying, analytical, and safety audits across the region to ensure complete compliance.
- Monitor audit findings, identify key trends, and support the implementation of robust corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
- Investigate client complaints, quality issues, incidents, and non-conformances, conducting thorough root-cause analysis to prevent reoccurrences.
- Coordinate regional asbestos resurveys and support group-wide technical quality improvement programmes.
- Deliver and support training, mentoring, competency assessments, and technical development programmes to help colleagues grow.
- Manage regional equipment compliance, calibration schedules, records, and internal QA processes.
- Promote health & safety best practice, supporting operational risk assessments and ensuring strict adherence to company procedures and industry legislation.
- Act as a technical mentor, supporting a proactive quality and safety culture through day-to-day coaching and support.
Requirements
- A minimum of five years' hands-on experience working within the asbestos consultancy industry.
- Technical Qualifications: BOHS P402, P403, and P404 certifications are essential.
- Accredited Standards: Proven experience working within UKAS-accredited quality management systems.
- Solid experience undertaking audits, compliance investigations, and quality assurance activities.
- Strong, up-to-date knowledge of asbestos legislation, current guidance, and industry best practices.
- Practical experience in delivering technical training, mentoring colleagues, or performing competency assessments.
Desirable Criteria
- A formal auditing qualification.
- Experience working with laboratory quality assurance programmes.
- Experience supporting general health & safety auditing or incident investigations.
