A leading, globally recognised financial services institution is seeking an experienced PR & Internal Communications Specialist (AVP level) to join its Global Communications function for a six-month maternity cover. This is a highly execution-focused role where you will span both Internal Communications and Public Relations. Working closely with senior communications leaders, you will ensure seamless continuity, protect the firm's reputation, and maintain strong momentum across key business priorities while team members are on leave.

Key Responsibilities

  • Internal Communications
    • Content Creation: Draft and edit high-quality internal copy, including leadership notes, strategic employee announcements, and change-related updates.
    • Channel Management: Format, schedule, and publish content across internal channels (intranet, email, and collaboration platforms), tailoring global messaging for regional relevance.
    • Event & Campaign Support: Act as a connector across the broader communications team, providing hands-on delivery support for major regional events and peak high-volume periods.
  • Public Relations & External Communications
    • Media Relations: Support senior PR leaders with proactive media engagement, including reporter research, media list curation, pitch creation, and follow-ups.
    • Collateral Development: Draft press releases, media briefs, talking points, bylines, and Q&A documents through established approval channels.
    • Executive Support: Assist in preparing briefing materials and logistics for executive media interviews, industry conferences, and awards.
    • Agency & Monitoring: Coordinate with external PR agencies to track deliverables, monitor media coverage, and prepare insightful competitive and market summaries.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Integrated Delivery: Partner with colleagues across Marketing, Communications, Public Policy, and regional business heads to ensure message consistency.
    • Project Management: Manage multiple concurrent workstreams with sharp attention to detail, maintaining thorough documentation for a smooth handover at the end of the contract.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience: Experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Versatility: A proven track record spanning both internal and external communications/PR is highly preferred.
  • Industry Background: Experience within financial services or banking.
