We are seeking an experienced Interim Divestment / M&A Finance Analyst to support a programme of strategic disposals, carve‑outs, and portfolio optimisation activity over an initial 6‑month period. This role is ideal for a high‑calibre finance professional with 7‑10 years’ experience in divestitures, carve‑outs, Transaction Services, Corporate Finance, Deals Advisory, or strategic finance. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and external advisers to evaluate disposal options, prepare businesses for sale, manage transaction analysis, and support execution through to completion. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong financial analysis, excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams at pace.
Key Responsibilities
- Divestment & Disposal Analysis
- Support evaluation of strategic disposal, carve‑out, and portfolio optimisation opportunities
- Analyse business unit financial performance, standalone cost base, margins, cash generation, and value drivers
- Build financial models to assess disposal scenarios, separation impacts, and valuation ranges
- Prepare business cases and recommendations for senior stakeholders
- Carve‑Out & Separation Readiness
- Support preparation of standalone financial information for disposal processes
- Analyse stranded costs, TSA requirements, one‑off separation costs, and ongoing operating model impacts
- Assist with creation of management presentations, vendor packs, and financial data books
- Coordinate financial inputs across Finance, Tax, HR, Legal, and Operations teams
- Transaction Execution
- Support live sell‑side processes from preparation through to completion
- Manage adviser requests, buyer Q&A, diligence workstreams, and data room activity
- Review financial due diligence outputs and challenge findings where appropriate
- Support SPA analysis including debt, cash, working capital, and completion mechanics
- Post‑Transaction Support
- Support separation execution and retained business financial impacts
- Assist with tracking cost takeout, stranded cost removal, and post‑deal reporting
Candidate Profile
Essential Experience
- Experience in divestitures, carve‑outs, Transaction Services, Corporate Finance, Deals Advisory, or Strategic Finance
- Strong financial modelling and analytical capability
- Experience preparing financial information for transactions or diligence processes
- Good understanding of separation issues including stranded costs and TSAs
- Able to manage multiple stakeholders in fast‑paced environments
Preferred Backgrounds
- Deloitte / PwC / KPMG / EY Deals / carve‑out background
- In‑house corporate development or transformation experience
- Experience in listed, private equity‑backed, or multi‑entity businesses
- Exposure to cross‑border separations or complex entity restructurings
